So many older cars have a noisier drafty ride because the seals are not tight. When you first buy a car the door seals are simply held in place by pressure. But it also seems to happen if i leave the car parked in the sun even for a few hours. During the winter water can freeze around the door s rubber weather strip locking you out of your car. Often the seals have pulled away from the door frame and leave gaps between the frame and the seal almost always in the corners.

It seems to happen if i don t use the doors for a while. Because it really does feel like it s sealed shut. I take wd 40 with a sort of nozzle thing the tube that comes out of it and i ll spray it around the door jamb and in the locks and that helps me open the door. This lets in cold or hot air sometimes water and almost always excess noise.

A friend actually broke the rear door handle trying to open the door. Prevent door sticking with silicone spray. Well it s just like when your door gets stuck on your car when it ices shut.
